NEWS FROM THE CHILDREN'S DEPT.

WE NEED -  Large pieces of styrofoam like the type used to float piers.  We need these for a couple of things one of which is Vacation Bible School.  Also we are looking for baby food jars.  The ones we are looking for are the smaller ones around 4 oz.

BASKETBALL  -  The kids are having a great time playing basketball and cheering on Wednesday nights.  Parents are welcome to watch at any time.  PreK – 2nd Grade plays from 5:45-6:15.  3rd –5th Grade plays from 6:15-6:45.

NURSERY WORKERS NEEDED  -  If you love interacting with toddlers and babies and showing them the love of Christ, then we have the job for you!   The Nursery is looking for qualified workers.  Applicants must be 18 years of age and pass a background check.  If you are interested, please contact Delisa Grace in the Nursery.

ASH WEDNESDAY  -  February 25 is Ash Wednesday.  We will not have children’s activities on this night so children may attend the service with their parents.  The nursery will be open.

BASKETBALL AWARDS -  After the Ash Wednesday service, at 6:30 p.m., we will have a short awards ceremony for the kids that participated in the basketball program.  This ceremony will take place in the gym.  Please make plans to attend with your child.  They have had a great time and we need to acknowledge their accomplishments.

Christmas County Spelling Bee

Another FUMC Christmas Choir production is on the books!  The Christmas County Spelling Bee was presented on December 17 to a full house!  The kids did an excellent job, as usual!  A great time was had by all.  After the production everyone enjoyed a pancake supper and some good fellowship.  Thanks to everyone who helped pull this off!

Some kids had a great time ringing the bell for the Salvation Army at the mall on December 20.
